The Punjab government has approved a subsidy of Rs. 9.5 billion for farmers under the High-Power Tractor Scheme, aimed at supporting the agriculture sector and helping farmers upgrade their machinery.
According to officials, the Punjab Finance Department has made the subsidy budget available online, allowing payments to start soon.
Under the scheme, the government will provide a subsidy of up to Rs. 1 million per tractor to farmers. Tractors ranging from 75 to 125 horsepower will be offered at discounted rates to eligible applicants.
The initiative is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to modernize agriculture, improve productivity, and reduce costs for farmers across Punjab.
