An Anti-Customs Court (ACC) in Karachi has sentenced a man, identified as Zahoor, to six years in prison for attempting to smuggle 60 iPhones from Dubai, valued at over Rs. 31.4 million.
Judge Shabana Rasalat also ordered the confiscation of all movable and immovable assets belonging to the convict. The 60 iPhones, discovered sealed in a locked package, were ordered to be seized by the government.
According to case details, Zahoor was arrested last month at Islamabad International Airport while attempting to illegally bring the smartphones into Pakistan from Dubai.
Following the verdict, law enforcement officials took him into custody from the courtroom and transferred him to Adiala Jail to serve his sentence.
